WEATHER# is first artistic event in Umbria to be certified "Green"through the ISO 20121 certification of sustainable event management.
Weather is not only proposed as an artistic project, but as a path to create a larger community of supporters and collaborators to give body and voice to environmental issues. These include artists, activists, experts, researchers, administrators, entrepreneurs and individual citizens.
The Municipality of Spoleto has offered financial and logistical support to Weather#, and to include the project in in the 2030 Agenda ONU for Sustainable Development, as an example of artistic and technological innovation, which can help to minimize the ecological footprint of performing arts productions, while maximizing the outreach and strength of the message.
The online performance of “Weather” has received a sustainability accreditation, through the official certification ISO 20121, as part of planned goals of the Municipality of Spoleto, which is already registered by EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), the environmental management agency developed by the European Commission.
WEATHER# is first artistic event to be certified ISO 20121 certification of sustainable event management ever in Umbria.
The time we live in asks us to change the practices and models with which we are all familiar. To give an answer to the current crisis and its adjustments, it is necessary to design with the tools of the present (multimedia, web), using new forms of encounter between art, languages and spaces, and to encourage dialogue and exchange between artists so that they may help one another in translating the cultural and social changes taking place through art.
A project that demonstrates, on an artistic level, our degree of interconnection with a common destiny and common intent, WEATHER# contains the additional value of an educational and social experience, helping to bring together a community in a sort of collective action that can give voice to environmental emergencies.
